The political use of sport in South Africa during apartheid is recognized as one of the most successful. Recently, the film Invictus, by Clint Eastwood, explores these circumstances, telling the way in which Mandela's government did a policy of racial reconciliation during the Rugby World Cup, in the 1995. The objective of this work is to analyze this film, reflecting, at some time, about the historical circumstances of South Africa and the relationship of the film with the American cultural context. The film seems an allegory to talk about political problems of United States, specially the immigration and multiculturalism.
