Body practices and education of the indian body: the contribution of sport to indian games

This paper analyzes the relation between sports and the education of the Indian body in the context of the Indian games. The aim of the paper was to understand the meaning of this event in relation to the sense of education of the Indian body. For that matter, it was done an investigation based in the tenet methodological of the Social Science, combining the research in documents with the accomplishment of the work field, which happened during the 9th edition of the Indian games. In this case, the analysis and the comprehension show that the game turns out to be a show and the traditional body practice, a sport performance that can also contribute to the outbreak of another habitus and change the relation between the Indians and the use of their bodies.
