Percutaneous rescue of a non-expanded stent from the right coronary artery

Although losing a non-expanded stent inside a coronary artery is a rare event, it may have potentially severe consequences, such as cardiac surgery for its removal or even acute thrombosis. The percutaneous rescue of the stent is feasible and has high success rates when it is located in the proximal third of the coronary artery. We describe a case of the rescue of a stent detached from the delivery system in the proximal third of the right coronary artery.
