Dear editor,

Regarding the manuscript "Laserlipólise: redução da pele e prevenção de umbigo flácido nas lipoplastias se­guindo parâmetros de segurança no uso do laser de diodo – com duplo comprimento de onda 924 e 975 nm" (Laserlipolysis: skin tightening lipoplasty followed by safety parameters for use of diode laser with double wavelength of 924 nm and 975 nm)¹, published in issue 26.2 of the Revista Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica (Brazilian Journal of Plastic Surgery), the authors report the application of 5,000 J for each 10 cm² but also report the application of the same energy for each 10 × 10 cm square, i.e., 100 cm².

Considering my experience with this laser, I believe that the authors are really referring to 100 cm². However, only one of these can be correct.

I did not find any remarks on this issue in previous publications, and therefore I am discussing this issue.
