Abstract
This article aims to outline a profile of political leaders who began their trajectory influenced by Theology of Liberation (theological current that linked the action oh Christians, especially Catholics, to a preferential option for the poor). Among these we highlight: Chico Alencar (PSOL); Paulo Teixeira (PT); and João Stédile (MST). We will also analyze the profile of some leaderships that are connect to the neofundamentalist movement (a movement formed mainly by evangelicals that defend the values of Christian fundamentalist morality) and represent a significant segment of Brazilian political life. Among them, we can mention: João Campos (PRB), who is leader of the Evangelical Parliamentary Front and Marco Feliciano (PSC). Comparative analysis in the formation of political leaders is fundamental to be able to follow the changes that are occurring in the composition of these political and religious currents in the National Congress.
