Abstract
Previous research has argued for the shift in the ideological position of the Workers’ Party in the last decades, especially when it came to presidency. The authors extend this research agenda by analysing the speeches of PT legislators who were present during the period in which the party was opposition and government on similar themes in the same periods. Through the wordscores method, we demonstrate the ideological migration of the PT to the right, strengthening the empirical evidence of the phenomenon. Analysis of the substantive content of the speeches revealed the direction of change in issues such as pension and labour reforms, education and foreign affairs.
