Components of brown fiber cotton production, irrigated with treated wastewater

Abstract

This research was conduted in field at sewer treatment plant of the Water and Wastwater Company of Paraíba State, in the Campina Grande, with the objective of verifying the effect of wastewater application depth (367, 505, 643 and 781 mm) without and with nitrogen and phosphorus doses of 90 and 60 kg ha-1 of N and P, respectively, on the components of brown fiber cotton plant production, cultivate BRS 200 (Gossypium hirsutum L.). Randomized blocks design was used in mixed factorial scheme (2 x 2 x 4) + 2, plus two additional treatments irrigated with 643 mm of tap water and receiving 90 and 180 kg ha-1 of nitrogen, with three replications. The irrigation with wastewater provided larger number of floral buttons and larger amount of fruits per plant, comparing with tap water.
