Nutritional status and yield of pepper with the use of liquid biofertilizers

The use of biofertilizers can improve the growth of plants and increase crop productivity at low cost. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of three liquid biofertilizers ("supermagro", "fermented organic" and "P + K"), with foliar and soil application, on the nutritional status and yield of pepper cultivar Dedo de Moça (Capsicum baccatum var. pendulum L.). The study was carried out in a field in Teresina, Piauí State, Brazil, from December 2010 to September 2011. The experiment was arranged in the randomized block design, with four replications. The treatments consisted of three biofertilizers: "supermagro", "fermented organic" and "P + K" with foliar and soil applications, NPK fertilizer, as recommended for the cultivation of green pepper, and the absolute control without fertilization. The cultivated variety of pepper "Dedo de Moça" responded positively to the use of liquid biofertilizer with foliar and soil applications. The biological fermented biofertilizer promoted greater fruit mass.
