EVALUATION OF DROPLET DEPOSITION BY ELECTROSTATIC AND CONVENTIONAL SPRAYING ON COTTON CANOPY

ABSTRACT

Two trials were carried out to evaluate the performance of electrostatic against conventional spraying on cotton canopy after 30 and 80 days of emergence. A factorial (23x32+1) arranged as a completely random design was used for the treated area. Cotton cultivar used was CNPA Precoce 1 which was planted in a configuration of 1m between lines with 5 plants/m within the line. The analysis of the data showed that in the superior surface of cotton leaf there was no significant differences among the treatments, however, the electrostatic spraying presented a higher number of impacts on the inferior surface probably because of the attraction of the electrical charged droplets by the treating object.
