Productivity and quality of strawberry under different environments and biofertilizer doses

ABSTRACT

Cultivation in greenhouse emerges as important in creating a more favorable microclimate for the production. In this context, the aim of this study was to evaluate the productivity and quality of strawberry under two cultivation environments and mixed doses of biofertilizers. The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the University of International Integration of Lusophone African-Brazilian (UNILAB), at the Maciço Baturité, CE, with cultivar Oso Grande from September 2013 to January 2014. The experimental design was in randomized blocks with split plots, with four replications. In plots the effect of two crop environments was evaluated while in the subplots the effect of five doses of biofertilizers. From 37 days after transplanting (DAT), weekly the number of fruits were counted to obtain the yield per plant, mass, diameter, length and soluble solids content of the fruit. Higher fruit yield (10,734 kg ha-1) was obtained in plants grown under greenhouse environment in zero dose. The quality characteristics of fruits grown in the open field conditions showed higher values indicating the temperature and light affect these characteristics.
