The article discusses times and spaces of the educational field, focusing on the sciences of education. It critically analyses the trends of research in the area since its origins as far as its maturity and epistemological consolidationl The places are situated in the administrative aparatus of the State, particularly the Ministeries linked to Education and Science, as well as in the institutions of Higher Education and in Primary and Secondary Schools. The researched times are located within crossroads of doubts, dependencies, uncertainties, as well as within a certain courage that is lacking within the scientific community that is committed to social sciences and to the issues relative to the educational field.
