Investigation of model building in the study of a physics issue using a qualitative computer model environment

The integration of information and communication technologies into the educational context has been the subject of several symposiums and conferences around the world and also in Brazil. Many studies have been carried out for developing methodologies that turn successful their application in the learning process. This paper shows a study that investigate the interaction between graduate students from physics and engineering areas and activities of a qualitative computer modelling environment expressive modelling activities. Results show that the students were able to build up and modify the model from the system proposed, starting from their own ideas.
