In this paper we determine the states of polarization of light through the measurement of luminosity intensity. The experimental apparatus is simple, feasible to be realized in didactic laboratories. The results show to be practicable the utilization of this experiment in the studies of basic optics, in the experimental demonstration of some topics theoretically seen in class and in the understanding of the light polarization.
