Implementing an application for smartphones as a voting system in physics classrooms with peer instruction

This work investigated the development and implementation of a smartphone application that sends the answers to the teacher during the resolution of conceptual tests in class. Physics classes were developed in a high school class using Peer Instruction in school activities to improve the teaching and learning of Physics. During classes, students would solve conceptual tests and send responses through the application directly to the teacher's notebook. The results showed that the application was well accepted by the students, that it has the potential to improve concentration on problem solving activities and to send the answers to the teacher. In this way, the teacher has the option to save the students' answers in the notebook and assess their learning. Peer Instruction has proved to be a powerful tool for stimulating learning, solving problems individually, promoting an increase in concentration, and also fostering group discussions during the collective resolution of conceptual tests.
