Construction of concepts of electricity in the early grades of elementary school with the use of virtual experiments

In this paper, we report the development and application of a methodology for teaching electricity concepts to children attending the fourth year of elementary school, with the aim of starting the construction of some concepts related to this topic by using a virtual experiment. The analysis of the evolution of the student's concepts while they were performing the programed tasks showed that the virtual experimentation led to the development of some cognitive skills and provided evidences of concept formation in the formal level.
