This paper explores the results of a research involving elementary school students, aiming to motivate and to use elements of space exploration in order to help the understanding of a specific scientific subject and to promote knowledge of astronautical activities. Twelve students and two teachers of elementary public school participated in the experiment applying the methodology of hands-on activities in which the students work actively in the reconstruction of the principle under study, that is, the principle of action and reaction. The results allow us to infer that the realization of activities in space education helps in the learning of concepts of science, technology and related fields in an interdisciplinary approach.
