Scalar gravitation: inconsistency of planetary orbits

This work studies the planetary motion in relativistic gravitation described by a scalar field. In particular, based on the resolution of an exercise of Ref. [1[1] T. Padmanabhan, Gravitation: Foudations and Frontiers (Cambridge University Press, New York, 2010).], it shows that the precession motion of the perihelion is inconsistent with the result predicted by general relativity and the observed experimental data.
