The electric guitar as an instrument for teaching wave physics

The use of several resources in physics teaching is very important to help the students in the learning process. In this work we present an approach based on the use of music and information and communication technology (ICT) to illustrate some physical concepts from a wave physics course. With the aid of such resources, musical features as tone, beats, harmonics (artificial and natural ones) and chord formation will be discussed and illustrated in practice through the use of an electric guitar, a software and a computer.
