Dark Matter in Secondary Education

We present a didactic approach to the concept of dark matter that can be used in secondary schools. Evidence for dark matter is studied by analyzing galaxy rotation curves, using only elements that are already familiar to the students: mechanics of the uniform circular motion, basic concepts of Newtonian gravitation and Kepler’s third law. We also report on an application of this approach.
