Temperature measurements in undergraduate laboratories often do not take into account the dead time of the sensors and measurement systems, whether analogic or based on electronic data acquisition. This paper presents measurements and comparisons of different types of dead time thermometers, as well as some possibilities and strategies for adaptation and control of this limitation in experiments involving temperature measurements of liquids.
