This is a presentation article of the special edition of the Revista Brasileira de Ensino de Física (RBEF) dedicated to lectures presented at the XI Escola Brasileira de Magnetismo (EBM) held in Porto Alegre in November 2023. Initially, we report on the XI EBM as follows as a history of EBMs, an event that has been held by the Brazilian magnetism community since 1997. Below we present a brief description of the articles on advanced topics presented at the XI EBM. These articles deal with both substantive themes of basic magnetism (theoretical and experimental) as well as its applications in areas as diverse as medicine and geology.
