Floating bodies: elements for the discussion of the students who are learning in the early years of elementary school

This study aimed to investigate a situation of teaching and learning of concepts related to the theme "floating bodies"students in the early years of elementary school. The activities were conducted in a class of eleven students from the age of about nine years old, students at a private school in Uberlândia/MG. Starting with activities developed in the classroom, based on a teaching methodology that focused on problem solving, materials handling and interaction among students with diferent skill levels. The results discuss aspects of the learning of this concept in children of this age group.
