Abstract:
Greater demands by society on the health profession have caused changes in medical education. Today's challenge is to train the physician to treat the patient as a whole individual, without overlooking his or her emotional and financial problems. Problem based learning has emerged as a viable alternative, since it combines different forms of knowledge and stimulates the student's reasoning so as to observe all aspects relevant to health. To achieve change demands energy and work , since the process needs to be continually evaluated in order to adapt to difficulties and problems arising during alterations in the curriculum.
