Abstract:
Although the studies of Theatre Genetics are now internationally recognized and have opened new paths for collaboration between researchers and artists, such studies are still almost inexistent in Portugal. Aware of that new field, this text is the result of a collaboration with Teatro O Bando that aimed at interrogating the creative process of O Inferno directed by João Brites. Thus, the different stages of the process are interrogated, considering the actors’ direction and the training phases as a result of a method built by this theatre director for some years now, which he names the actor’s awareness.
