The Interweaving of Theatre in Situ, from Cultural Action to Artistic Action: a look back at the project Montjoie! Saint-Denis!

Abstract:

The article questions the notions of cultural action and artistic action based on the Montjoie! Saint-Denis! project, carried out in Seine-Saint-Denis (France) by the researchers from HOC MOMENTO, between 2017 and 2019. From Olivier Neveux, this article describes the way in which cultural action is carried out in a territory, with a view to a creation in situ, is one with artistic action and is carried out in the service of the work rather than to its detriment. In doing so, certain stereotypes are turned around and the contradictory trends in French cultural policies are brought to light.
