The understanding of dialogue in a process of collective construction of a political pedagogical project

This article presents a study that aimed to investigate how managers, educators and representatives of a community placed in São Paulo's north outskirts understood "dialogue" through the experience of collectively building a political pedagogical project of two educational institutions. Referring to the thought of Martin Buber and Paulo Freire, we carried out a qualitative study, using the reflexive interview conference. The results showed an understanding of dialogue as "conversation", "participation", "silence", "integration" and "knowledge building". The collective construction of the political pedagogical project demonstrated the willingness to dialogue and the need of greater effort in listening to each other, revealing dialogue as a way of social change and of acknowledgement of the value of interpersonal relationships
