At the end of the year 2010, we would like to take this opportunity first to the acknowledgments:

1) The board of the SBF, which has supported us in its possibilities.

2) The authors for relying on us the mission to disseminate its scientific contributions, with an increasing flow of articles received for evaluation from all the Brazilian states and a growing number from other countries, totaling 255 entries received in 2010, until November.

3) The RBF advisers, highlighting that each articles is carefully evaluated by three reviewers, and that sometimes re-evaluate after the authors consideration, therefore giving them every opportunity to defend their views. Registering for this list of advisors, young doctors which participation have been encouraged, to provide training in this area of knowledge, that is a recommendation of the ABEC, to give training for new reviewers.

4) Our team of direct employees, by forming a good team to support the growth of our Fruitculture.

5) The funding agencies FAPESP, CNPq and CAPES for their support. 6) The direction of UNESP / Jaboticabal, to the operational facilities offered to the RBF.

Second, we take the opportunity to present the procedures we expect to introduce in 2011 in pursuit of our well-deserved A, which are:

1) Increase of the reviews, which we hope to count on suggestions from our advisors, indicating subjects and their respective authors. There are several ones already scheduled for 2011.

2) Limiting the maximum number of authors per article, proposal that it will be lead to the Editorial Board of the RBF, by judging that the justifications often presented in articles with a large number of authors, not fully convince. It is our thought on this proposal to establish a maximum number of five authors per paper.

3) Do not change the category of the submitted article. Sometimes the advisers have an opinion unfavorable to the publication as an article, suggesting that it may be approved as Scientific Communication. In the understanding of the Editorial Board a paper received as an article, should be approved or not, without the possibility of changing the category.

4) Advancing the ahead of print version, because the articles on the future editions of the RBF are already on line in the SciELO. This applies to the December issue. This will increase the exposure time of the articles, helping to improve our impact factor.

5) The English version: our project is to make the release, since that the financial resources allow, with the availability in the SciELO also in the English version.

6) Increase the international contribution in the RBF, position that is been consolidating, we had seven articles published from other countries in the four editions of 2010.

7) Paper version: in the last SBF Congress it was approved that the RBF will continue with the paper version, since that the resources received enable this continuity.

8) Financial contribution in the conferences and events sponsored by the RBF: it was approved at the closure of the XXI Congress of the Brazilian Society of Fruitculture held in October 2010 in Natal, Brazil, that the registration fees for the conferences and events with support from the RBF, the value must be calculated to cover the cost of the event and, furthermore, should be increased 10% rate to be reverted to the RBF, showing the concern of the scientific community to make all efforts to strengthen the RBF.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish the new board of the Brazilian Society of Fruitculture elected at the XXI Brazilian Congress of Fruitculture held in October 2010, Dr. Abel Rebouças São Jose -UESB- President, and Dr. Almy Junior Cordeiro de Carvalho -UENF- 1st Vice President, whose persons we greet the other board members, wishing success in the direction of this important society, and certain that they will do everything for the reinforcement of the RBF.

Happy 2011.
