Aplicação de balanceamento espectral e DMO no processamento sísmico da Bacia do Tacutu

In the 80s, in sedimentary area of the Tacutu Basin a large exploratory expedition of hydrocarbons was undertaken for PETROBRAS, including a series of seismic reflection and refraction surveys, and the drilling of two pioneers wells. The seismic acquisition was performed with low coverage (12). Additionally, the seismic data was largely affected by the groundroll. The low S/N ratio was responsible for the poor quality of the subsurface imaging, generated as final result of the seismic data processing. In this work we investigate the performance of some filtering techniques to improve the quality of the seismic image. The processing was carried out using the basic steps: geometry, amplitude correction, velocity analysis, NMO and DMO correction and stacking. Aiming the groundroll attenuation, we have used a spectral balancing technique, that proves to be much effective, compared to the FK filtering approach. Results obtained with the seismic line 50-RL-90, combining different filtering techniques, allows us to suggest a processing flow, to improve the quality of the stacked seismic section associated with data of poor S/N ratio acquired with low coverage.
