This paper analyzes Fernand Braudel’s criticism of Lévi-Strauss concerning the relation between the structure and the historical time. Presented in the essay "History and the Social Sciences: the long duration", it makes explicit the conceptual fundaments of a historiography that suspects from the radical ruptures in history.
