The Transfiguration of the Form: A Story Without a Story, or a Lispector’s Semiotic Essay

ABSTRACT:

Based on discourse studies, we analyze the Água viva (1973), by Clarice Lispector, considering the aesthetic-thematic deviation that occurs due to the clash with the linguistic code during the enunciation. We observe enunciative strategies in the discourse to mold and [re]form the substance from the questioning of forms and figures without, however, abandoning these or those. The paroxysm of the transfiguring experience in the book is constituted by a myriad of instances acting in such a way as to make the result of this an iconoclastic experience, in line with the modernist movement of the period in which it was written and, at the same time, standing out in a definitive way in literature and in discourse studies.
