Other modernisms: Bruno de Menezes, the celebration of the world and the amazon identities

ABSTRACT

This article seeks to present an aesthetic analysis of Bruno de Menezes’ s poems, who became notable in Belém of Pará, Brazil, as one of the enunciators of modernism. In research carried out in the magazine Poesia sempre, with the objective of thinking about Brazilian modernisms and the relevance of reframing the debate on language, plurality, and identity, it was discovered that, in 1993, there was the release of a collection named “Lendo o Pará”, in which volume 14 was dedicated to the writer. Almost 30 years later, under the baton of the celebrations of the Semana de 22, we noticed that Bruno remains with little expansion across the country. The relevance of his production is highlighted as a pioneer in the Amazon region, revealing fine writing, rich in dialogue with other cultures and in a movement of rupture with the classic models of composition since the publication of “Arte Nova” in the decade of 1920.
