Influence of sport activities on the skeletal growing and maturation

Sport activities do not represent a factor which may influence the maturation and growing processes in a child. Physical activity apparently does not affect final height and maturation, as evidenced by longitudinal studies. If an athlete child undergoes any influence on its growing and maturation, it is more probable that interactions occur, envolving other environmental factors. On the other side, physical training may be an important component to enhance bone mineral density.
