Abstract
The work presents the results of the application of an active methodology in which the teaching-learning process on atmospheric variables, contents taught in climatology classes in geography disciplines in the final years of high school, were worked in an articulated way with practical construction activities of meteorological instruments as low-cost materials. The research was carried out in a public elementary school located in the municipality of Caucaia - Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza in the State of Ceará, with 26 students aged 14 to 17 years. The proposed methodology followed the guidelines contained in the Common National Curricular Base (BNCC) and in the Reference Curricular Documents of Ceará (DCRC) and was approved by the Ethics Committee of the State University of Ceará (UECE). The results showed that the methodology used in the study was able to provide a motivating teaching-learning process in which teachers and students could play their roles, in addition to providing significant knowledge about atmospheric variables, climate and climate variability, observed in the region. and their relationship with the environment in which they live.
