Tourism specialization and quality of life in argentine jurisdictions

Abstract

The study aims to characterize tourism specialization and analyze the relationship with quality of life in Argentine jurisdictions between 2009-2019. A review of the national and international literature on this subject is carried out to identify an adequate selection of variables that conceptualize these terms with a theoretical foundation and adapted to the case under study. The applied methodology combines the survey, the measurement of the key variables, the construction of indicators and the elaboration of indexes from the Factorial Analysis with the Principal Components extraction method. The data used is from the Hotel Occupation Survey (National Institute of Statistics and Censuses of Argentina) and from National public ministries. The results show that the Argentine jurisdictions with the highest tourist specialization have a better quality of life from 2009 until 2019.
