Tourism and territoriality: the territory of beer of the serrana region of Rio de Janeiro as a vector of governance and local development

Abstract

The territorial changes caused by tourist activities, combined with the strong advance of beer production in Brazil, especially the craft, provide important elements for geographic analysis. This article aims to analyze the relationship between tourism, brewing territory and territoriality, with empirical evidence of the Rio de Janeiro beer route, specifically, the Serra Verde Imperial. Accordingly, it intends to present prospects for local development grounded in concepts of governance of the territory and the dereterritorialization processes. For the analysis, a bibliographic review of the themes was carried out, analysis of secondary data in public agencies and associations related to beer tourism, as well as a semi-structured interview with the coordination of the beer route chosen by the study. Final considerations, based on the interview and data collected. broadened the understanding of the potential for local development that beer territories have when related to tourism.
