Control of brown rot and physical-chemical characteristics in 'Magnum' peaches postharvesttreated with abiotic elicitors

The aims of this work to evaluate the physico-chemical and control of post-harvest brown rot in 'Magnum' peaches subjected to abiotic elicitors during cold storage. The treatments were: 1-) control, 2-) UV-C irradiation of 254 nm, 3-) ozone, concentration of 0,03 μL L-1, 4-) phosphate-K (40% of P2O5 and 20% of K2O), and 5-) Acibenzolar-S-methyl (BION®, 50% of a.i). Fruits were stored at - 0.5 ° C for 30 days, being evaluated at the opening of chamber and five days at 20 ° C. Only ozone treatments reduced the growth of the lesion caused by the fungus Monilinia fructicola, however, it caused browning on the skin of the fruit. The other elicitors had no effect in reducing fungal growth.
