Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present some considerations about the normative model (principle and rule) proposed by Marcelo Neves. It begins with a brief discussion on the meaning and the relationship between text and norm. Then the paper reviews two normative models, the Neoconstitutionalist and Neves’, comparing them to classical idea of metanorm, developed in several academic fields (outside Law) and in various Brazilian traditions. In the end, the paper analyzes how the traditional notion of metanorm anticipates elements of these the contemporary normative models.
