The Critical Criminology in Brazil and the critical studies of whiteness

Abstract

In this test I initially explore the theoretical and methodological aspects to be developed to study the effects of whiteness in the writings of Critical Criminology in Brazil. I suggest that the racial theme, while a normative effect of the white logic, is marked by the analysis of black as the “other racialized,” taken as a variable explanatory causal that essentializes the black population and does not identify this population as political subjects.
