"Slutwalk” and freedom of manifestation: social control and the criminalization of black women

Abstract

The objective of the article is to rewrite the sentence of the case involving Roberta, accused of indecent exposure for showing her breast in the Slut March, Guarulhos, in June the 8th, 2013. The new judgment takes into consideration the evidence in the police procedure and the process brought to the special criminal justice unit. The reasoning is based on the evidence and legislation applicable to the case to rewrite the judgment. The evidence that we interpreted now, through the lens of a decolonial intersectional feminist epistemology, led us, instead of the original decision, to a not guilty sentence.
