Abstract
With special attention to three of his feature films (Mango Yellow, Bog of Beasts, and Rat Fever), Cláudio Assis’ movies serve as a departing point towards a critique of the legal subject. The essay is divided in three parts. After a short definition of the legal subjectivity, three story arcs are analysed, one for each feature film considered. These selected story arcs should allow, in the end, the development of a critical approach to the notion of the legal subject, as well as to point out to future academic developments.
