Abstract
The present article proposes an understanding of acts of resistance and climate activism as a form of critique of property. It argues that the contentious repertoire of certain social actors in the field of climate change can not only defensible under the law but also carries a critical potential towards current conceptions of property. To do so, it analyzes theoretical models that connect the discussion on civil disobedience and property rights. Building on this, based on the theory of law of Robert Cover, it seeks to aggregate a new normative dimension to such practices to make possible the identification of new conceptions and critiques of property, from existing mobilizations.
