Abstract
This article presents the findings of the “Prison Letters” project, as a result of the agreement signed between UNDP and PUC-Rio, which analyzed 8,818 letters addressed to public institutions in 2016, considering the narratives of persons deprived of their liberty as the main key of analysis of the Brazilian criminal justice system and of the criticism of the violent state foundations.
