Abstract
From an ethnographic approach, we compare two emblematic judicial cases of Argentina in which, within the framework of public hearings in judicial proceedings, the thresholds of the dignity of human and non-human animals with precarious living conditions were discussed: a habeas corpus presented in favor of the orangutan Sandra favorably resolved and a protective action in which the Supreme Court of Justice prevents in which the SCJ prevents a child with a very serious illness and his mother from being homeless again.
