Abstract
This paper, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Paulo Freire's birth, approaches, under a Theory of Human Rights, the thought synthesized in the books “Education as a practice of freedom”, “Pedagogy of the oppressed”, “Pedagogy of hope” and “Pedagogy of autonomy”. Its objective is to understand and present a conception of human rights associated with the ideas of peace, environment and socialism, according to the Brazilian thinker.
