Struggles for socio-environmental justice in the face of climate emergency

Abstract

The article problematizes climate capitalism based on the action research developed by the Climate Justice Collective of Via Campesina (2014-2019) and the José Lutzenberger Agroforestry Community (Antonina/PR, 2016-2020). As result it is pointed out that peoples and social movements, while groups of high vulnerability to climate change, also act as guardians of biodiversity, being important social agents for the ecological transition from the perspective of climate-environmental justice.
