THE EVERYDAY CONSTRUCTION OF THE UFRGS’ STRIKE: THE MOVEMENT AGAINST THE REFORMS AT THE END OF 2016

ABSTRACT

At the second half of 2016, many events changed the everyday life of the workers all over the country. At the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), technicians and teachers started a strike against the so-called PEC of the End of the World and the Reform of Secondary School. Being active participants at this movements, and at the same time in our academic practice studying the oeuvre of Henri Lefebvre, it was inevitable to approximate these two activities, organizing a militant-research with the aim of analysing the everyday construction of these strikes. The study of the strike, through everyday life – this place of transition, encounters, interactions and conflicts -, allowed the understanding of its construction from below, from the lived and the living, the individual and the collective. Besides, we highlight the action and practices which suspend the repletion and challenge alienation.
