ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze state of the art on collaborative consumption. For this purpose, a bibliometric analysis was carried out on the topic “collaborative consumption” (CC) in the Web of Science database, which is in one of the main world databases of peer-reviewed scientific literature. The results show that the topic is clearly growing in interest. The identification of the most influential journals corroborates the data of the areas that most investigate the theme, namely: business and management, representing 43.89% of the published articles; environmental sciences and studies with 31.02% of published articles; technology and information systems, with 25.41% of the total articles. Besides, only one author who is listed among those who produce the most on the subject emerges among the most cited. The results indicate that there are different ways of operationalizing the CC, and much attention has been given to those practices that have intermediaries. The analysis of the phenomenon is based on areas with different approaches, but which contribute to the understanding of the possibilities and challenges faced by collaborative consumer networks. Thus, a research agenda on the management of collaborative consumption organization models and their relationship with the promotion of sustainable
