To assess the effectiveness of two home ergonomic interventions in order to reduce the intensity of pain and perceived stress and improve the quality of life in informal caregivers of chronic post-stroke patients. |
The two groups of caregivers showed significant differences such as: pain intensity in the neck, right shoulder and right and left knees, and in the quality of life in relation to physical health. There was a reduction in pain intensity between the two experimental groups after the intervention (12 weeks of training in postural hygiene, kinesiotherapy and home adaptations). The intervention reduced the perceived intensity of pain in the neck, shoulders and knees of caregivers in both experimental groups and increased in the control group. Physical health worsened among caregivers who received only the usual intervention. |
Pain in the neck, right shoulder and right and left knees; worse physical health. |
