This is a historical report of 10 years (1981-91) nursing assistance experience of pediculous control in a macro psychiatric hospital. Data were obtained from the pediculous comission's montly and annual. The Comission's effective work to uprise the periodic necessities and dificulties; frequent reorganizations; new routines; restatements of proposals; and the search for new technical, administrative and assistencial alternatives and nursing assistance to the infested pacients, succeeded reaching the goal of decreasing the pediculous incidence.
