This paper presents a bibliographic review about osteoporosis, point out the concept, physiopathology, types and risk factors. It emphasizes how the health team must developthe assistance according the differents types of osteoporosis, mainly the prevetive measures that can retard or even stop this disease, like: the supplementation of calcium and vitamin D in the diet if necessary, the hormonal therapy and physical activity.
